[URGENT] My wordpress.org site dashboard disappeared

[ad_1]

Hi all,

I recently transferred my domain from company A to B. For hosting, I was using TSOhost cPanel deluxe and it is still active. However, after transferring the domain, I am not able to either access my website (www.website.com) or the WordPress dashboard. (www.website.com/wp-admin). Here are the screenshots. If I proceed without the SSL cert, I will be brought to the second screenshot.

Luckily I have access to cPanel, but I have no idea how to set things up to relink the website with the domain. Can anyone assist me? This is a website from a charity and I need to solve this ASAP. Thank you so much.

  1. Looks like you’ve no A records for the domain. You’ve set nameservers to be on Tso but it’s not pointing to the server.

  2. Make sure to change nameserver for you domain to point to your actual registrar’s defaults. Then on the registrar dashboard, change DNS records for the domain and point an A record to the IP address of the new server. You might have to copy some other records from TSOHost, but start with the A record first. At the moment, there is no A record, and the nameserver is pointing to different locations.

Also, take into account that your changes might take a while to reflect.

  3. Fix your DNS. If you do not understand what that means, then find somebody who knows about domain name servers and have them fix it for you. Or rather at least have them guide you through it.

DNS and SSL is complex, or can be, and you probably need help if you have no idea how it works. Note that fixing this can be complex, but should not actually cost you any money. So don’t buy anything from anybody.

  4. You simply need to update your DNS records. Start by reviewing your previous DNS settings on Security Trails dot com. Copy these settings, then go to your control panel, navigate to the DNS section, and make the necessary changes.

  5. The second screen is showing because you don’t have an ssl on your godaddy cpanel server. That’s the default page. Setup ssl and site will work
