Okay, I’ve got some clarification. Once user entries are approved, it looks like I also have to go to the page where the shortcode is embedded and do a publish for the map to update. Is there a way we can have the map update without constantly having to republish the page it’s displayed on?

Thanks for reaching out. This sounds more like an issue with page caching. You don’t have to re-publish the page with the map to have new locations visible. If you are using a caching/pagespeed plugin please try to exclude the page with the map from the cache.
