So I am building a SaaS, I’d like a solution so that users can register, login and use their personal dashboard. Within the users dashboard their will be information personal to their business.
I cannot decide the best way to do this, at first I considered building my own using an SQL database but this seems old and clunky.
I have programming experience, however little experience with wordpress. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You can use Ultimate Member and have a login/dash etc. system ready-made. Or you can build on the WP framework… but unless you wish to use WP in other ways, (and if you can build this without WP) then WP is superfluous. Just build your app – it will be quicker and lighter.
