Hello. As of yesterday, I subscribed to a *Serverplan* yearly plan and registered my first website ever.
I am trying to stop just reading/studying about web design/development and actually attempt to create something to add to my marketing skillset and portfolio.
I have been following a couple of online courses and while I was reading my notes I saw that one of the teachers said that a good way to start out would be to either install the **Astra free version** and use it with **ElementorPRO**, or buy the **lifetime version of Astra** and use it with its add-on ***Ultimate Addons for Elementor*** (which I’m guessing he was either suggesting to also buy with a lifetime license or subscribe to it annually).
Since I already spent about 100€ on the hosting service, I’m trying to figure out if I could avoid subscribing to more stuff this soon (considering I’m also a beginner) by sticking to both of the free versions of the theme and page builder.
I am also trying undestand what I should actually invest on when the time comes (**and when would that actually be**, lol)
The lifetime version of Astra Pro is currently $227 while lifetime Ultimate Addons is about $230. ElementorPRO pricing is quite steep as well.
Maybe I’m overthinking stuff, but I’d rather have a long term “game plan” so to speak.

You are on wordpress.com?
Avoid Elementor. First step to disaster, trust me. Once you’re in, it’s hard to get out. Sooner or latter you will wish to get out.
Use default (2023) theme and add extra blocks plugin if you need them; or GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks or Kadence/KadenceBlocks. You can add these blocks to default theme or to Astra, as well.
Success.
