Using Jetpack for One Module Only?

[ad_1]

Does anyone use Jetpack for one particular modules and find that negates the performance hit?

I’m considering installing it just for the “Secure Sign On” feature but I was wondering if having just this one module would still slow the site down?

  1. In nearly all cases, there are dedicated plugins that perform much better than anything Jetpack provides.

What is “secure sign on” exactly?

  2. I avoid Jetpack like the plague. It’s better to find a plugin for your specific use case or roll your own. The first time I ever had to restore a website from backup was due to Jetpack.

  3. Piece of advice: Stay AWAY from Jetpack at all cost. Don’t ask or the reason. It’s the most POS plugin out there.

  4. There is nothing that Jetpack does that can’t be done natively or with a less invasive plugin.

Jetpack exists for the sole purpose of funneling data to Automaticc. Once you install Jetpack you have defeated the entire purpose of open source software and may as well be using Wix.

  5. Im not convinced jetpack deserves the hate it gets in the first place. I should rephrase…Im not convinced jetpack deserves the hate it gets, *for performance reasons alone*. 10 years ago, sure. But it’s at least as performant as anything else these days and often more so.
