Warning about WP Stagecoach

[ad_1]

Didn’t see any posts about this so figured I’d make one. A colleague of mine has been using WP Stagecoach for about 2 years, mostly for weird arrangements where his agency is doing site dev and another agency controls the client’s domain name and hosting.

Recently a staging site started returning security errors and they were unable to access WP Admin or download a backup of the site via FTP. They contacted Stagecoach support and the email bounced.

At some point the company was sold by the founders to a company called WP-Masters that appears to be based in Germany. After reaching out to them and hearing nothing my buddy canceled the billing for their subscription immediately.

The WP Stagecoach website is still up and taking payments as of today, but it appears their servers have just gone down with no one to manage them.

I wanted to flag this for anyone considering Stagecoach since they have positive reviews all over and no one seems to have mentioned this yet. Great reminder to keep up with plugin authors regularly…
