About Me: Web Dev, with experience in react, and asp-net, very little experience with wordpress years ago for a little gaming blog I website a friend of mine had done all of the set up for, so my WP knowledge is very limited.
I’m making a personal site for myself to get some experience working with a WP as a headless CMS with a Next Js front end. Some functionality I’m wanting to use it to have a blog style section in my personal site, as well as something like photography gallery.
Does this combination make sense for what I’m trying to make. I’m thinking of expanding this later to potentially more business focused services for other websites

Why complicate your life like that? WP already handles all the frontend stuff and its fast both server-side and on the devices of the users. ~40% of the web is running WP without those for a reason. A major reason for using WP is not having to deal with all the stuff that the ‘modern’ (or rather more correctly, corporate scene that is awash with VC money to burn) front end imposes, from package managers to compiling to performance issues and all that. Why would you want to use a platform that does all of that for you but still undertake all those chores unnecessarily instead of just concentrating your site/activity/business/product…

Headless WP for this? Is your life so boring that you have to fill it with headless WP to make something WP is built for. Forget headless WP.
You want Headless CMS and NextJS:
