Website Down, Has This on Main Page and /wp-admin

[ad_1]

So basically I am dead in the water here. I can’t log in and I have no idea how to restore the site. Does anyone have any insight?

Edit: Sorry tried to add a screenshot, but that apparently did not work. Message reads:

There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

Note: I consider myself decently tech-savvy, but every time I see a conversation on this sub it reads like an entirely different language to me. I appreciate any help I can get and apologize in advance for not knowing exactly what questions you may be asking at first.

Well, what does the email that your site admin received say?

  2. do you know how to log into your server via ssh? you should have an error log file located sometimes here: /var/log/apache2/error.log

you can either just open that file or tail it and see what it’s saying the specific error is. let me know if you don’t know how to do either of those and I can walk you through it via PM.

  3. Hopefully you have a backup of the site through hosting to restore. One possibility is that a plugin or theme broke the site. One option is to access the directory through ftp/SFTP and disable plugins one at a time until you gain access

  4. Usual reason for this is a plugin or theme element has just been added and is causing issues.
Roll back to a recent back-up and try again.

  5. Good chance it’s a plugin conflict. Try disabling all plugins via ftp. Go to the plug-ins folder and rename all the plugins with a period in front of them. Refresh the site in the browser. If the site loads (will probably look weird) then it’s a plugin conflict. Slowly one by one rename the plugins back to their original name and refresh the website each time. Once the website fails to Load you found the culprit.

  6. Plugin conflict, restore from backup, or if you can FTP just change the name of each plugin by adding a 1 or an A to it, it will render then not usuable. What hosting provider do you use ?

  7. I am currently facing the same issue.

Weird thing is, this person that bought the theme exported it to Google drive for me to then upload it on the site.

    Could this be the issue?

How can I overcome this? i received an error that said “ recovery mode not initialized”
