FAQ My site was hacked

Try a site check with Sucuri

Do you have a recent backup copy of your website (including database and files) – if not, contact your webhosting vendor to ask if they have a backup copy of your website.

Thanks Lisa
I tried sucuri and got that message….
“403 Forbidden”
This error code may mean the site was disabled by its hosting provider because of malware problems. The site also may be under maintenance at the moment and you should try scanning it later. Another possible reason is some parts of the website have restricted access and our scanner could not scan them.

Ovh informed me I could be a victim of phishing today and I received in my inbox, an email from my website “form” in Russian asking me to click on links.
I was going to scrap that website completely and get a fresh start anyway. Can I keep the domain and start again? Will that erase the problem?

You have to clarify this with your hoster Ovh. They provide you with the resources for hosting, which seems to be disabled at the moment. WordPress as a software cannot help you manage your domain nor clarify your account with Ovh. They may also have a backup of your project. Therefore, please contact their support.

Thanks.
I already replied to them on that matter. On their first email, they gave me tips that seem to be related to your software. I’ll see what they say when they’ll come back to me. Thanks for your help. At least I know where to go and where the problem seems to point at. 👍
