Simple question but perhaps silly. But I have been seeing a lot of information about website migration and it may be because I am tired studying. But is there anyway for example if I had a friend who didn't build there website on wordpress but they wanted me to edit it on there. Is there a way to do that and improve the quality of his website?

Simply put No. The next best think you could try is to find a almost blank theme (or something that looks most similar) and start rebuilding your friends site on wordpress. And the fact that you already have the content and the “inspiration” makes it a bit more easier than starting from zero.
Simple term is you can’t post your food picture in facebook using your twitter app. It’s just not possible.
