disclaimer: i am stupid. i have no idea what i am doing. i am a social media manager who was inexplicably tasked with revamping my companies website.
my companies website is hosted via wordpress and i’m trying to figure out how “themes” work. i went onto websitedemos.net and found a few that i like, but i don’t know what i’m actually supposed to do with them.
am i able to download it somehow and upload it to my wordpress, and then make changes? does it just serve as visual inspiration and i have to build it myself? HELP

I recommend you dig around on the WordPress website – they have a ton of helpful documentation & tutorials, and you should start here: [https://wordpress.com/webinars/getting-started-website-building-101/])
Themes, essentially, are the front end – what your website looks like.
Plugins are the extra functions you can add-on.
That said, it depends what you mean ‘hosted via wordpress’ as there are 2 versions.
