Hello everyone! I have finally reached the point were I am ready to make my site public but after getting everything setup and connecting to it over the internet the site images are all broken, and the page is a mess but locally it looks perfect also when I try to connect to the web address it brings me to the root folder of the page and not the actual page. If i type the page locally it says “A new site is in the works” This is my first WordPress site so a little confused. Am I supposed to update the “WordPress Address (URL)” Field or the “Site Address (URL)” from the x.x.x.x/wordpress Thank you!

Yes you need to update the domain name. And you will also need to update any references in the db. To do that, install a plugin called Better Search Replace and use it to perform a find/replace.
