Hi,
Couple days ago I decided to make my website multilanguage. I wanted to have full control over it, therefore decided to create subfolder and duplicate the whole website.
I’ve created new SQL database, and duplicated the content of the previous one. I’ve moved all the existing WP files to new /pl/ subfolder, edited new wp-config file, everything worked fine.
Today I wanted to create a language bar, I’ve done both exactly the same bars in the backend builder for the website and completely strange things happened. One language bar looks fine, the other is completely wrong. By coincidence, I went back to the backend, and saved a website in the builder that didn’t have any changes made. I refreshed the website, and to my surprise: the problem was fixed on the website that I saved, BUT the problem was “transferred” to the other website, which I didn’t save in the backend.
So I decided to try it again – now without any changes I saved the website that received this “migrated” bug, and surprise continuous – on the website which I just saved the bug is fixed, but on the other website that I didn’t do anything with – the error appears again.
I’m completely lost, does it look like some completely weird connection between both databases? Do you have any ideas how to fix it?
Here is the youtube video, that will definitely help you to understand it better (turn on captions to follow along with issue description):
