I’ve recently been tasked with enhancing a basic, yet unexpectedly complex WordPress website, built on the Gutenberg starter theme with ACF. I’ve found that the path to editing site content is not as intuitive as I’m accustomed to. It is relaying heavily on ACF.
As someone who is somewhat experienced with WordPress and accustomed to page builders and creating themes from scratch, this setup seems unnecessarily complicated. I’m contemplating building a new website from scratch for ease and intuitiveness.
Before taking this step, I wanted to ensure I’m not overlooking anything.
What am I missing here?

It’s pretty common for devs to build websites using cpt and acf. ACF is a pretty good tool, especially for large complicated builds, IMHO rewriting the entire site is going to cost more than figuring out how the theme was built.
How have you built the site? Perhaps you’ve used Classic Editor in the past?
*”I’ve found that the path to editing site content is not as intuitive as I’m accustomed to.”* – what are you comparing/accustomed to?
