What are my options for a hassle-free WordPress site?

Hi, I have what I’m sure is a simple question that I could google, but I have a feeling I’d get a lot of marketing type results, so I’m hoping this community can help steer me in the right direction.

I currently run my own WordPress blog on a Dreamhost VPS. I initially installed WordPress, a relatively simple theme that I customized quite a bit, and a handful of plugins to meet my needs. However, these days, I don’t care as much about (or need) control over every aspect of the WordPress installation. Every time I log in I have either WordPress itself or a bunch of plugins that I need to update. I also have CRON jobs for backing the entire site up on a schedule.

I just want to write the blog posts and not worry about anything else.

So, given that I have the domain name and existing blog posts in a WP database, what might you recommend?

1) Do something within my existing setup?
2) Start brand new with a service of sorts where I can export/import my WP database and use my domain name?
3) Something else?

I don’t mind paying for a service and/or a good theme/look. I’m currently paying for the VPS — so that’s why I’m not sure if I should stick with that and do something within Dreamhost or look to another service like Wix or something to replace my current setup.

Again, really asking because I’m interested to hear real opinions and not whatever shows up highest on Google.

Btw, in case it matters, I blog maybe a few times month and my site gets < 100 visitors on avg / day.
