what are the image size requirements for blog images?

[ad_1]

I want to insert an image above each blog post to help identify the topic. I inserted a jpg with the name “EGYPT,” but WP resizes it and it looks awful. I have tried different sizes, but still looks distorted. Does anyone know optimal image size for this? I’ve attached a screenshot

Here is where I uploaded the image. I accessed the menu at right through the single blog:

  1. You added the image as a feature image ofcause wordpress will resize for optimization.
Add the image in the canva and you will be able to edit size of the image

  2. Normally, themes handle image sizes there, so the optimal size differs from theme to theme. Since you also have to take into consideration social media shares, a good, one-size-fits-all solution would be 1280 x 720. For example, for Facebook it’s recommended 1200 x 628.

From what I can tell, the image you uploaded is small, so the theme enlarged it to fit the designated image container. So, I don’t think it’s an issue with the theme there but with the size of the uploaded image.

  3. A “featured image” is a specific size based on the themes information about what size it needs.

So if you want to choose the size yourself, don’t upload it as a featured image, upload it just as an image using the image block.
