Well, there is something that didn’t exist, but recently someone has developed a plugin that fixes a lot of small nuisances in WordPress:

I think it is a good idea for a plugin. It is always great to have a choice. When it comes to this kind of plugins, I worry about the security vulnerabilities, though. Because it is not absolutely necessary to have it, but heck, it does make life a little more convenient.
Something that doesn’t exist today, is a free plugin to manage GDPR and cookie issues properly. All the solutions are paid. It would be nice to have a simple free plugin that lets you show the banner for specific countries, and properly store consent as per requirements.
