What is caching explain in very simple way please.

[ad_1]

I have a caching plugin installed.
My understanding is that it works like this.

All pages get cached so visitors see a cached version of the pages. Their request does not go to the serve instead they get cached ones. Right?

When I use developer tools on google, some JavaScript, images and others says memory cached – disk cached and loads within no times. Are these cached on browser? So, if I visit a site for the very first time I will not get a cached version? Or will still get a cached version but JavaScript and images need to be stored on browser for the next time?

Please use simple terms “no technical background here”

Thank you.
