I tried using elementor but I found it a little frustrating and unintuitive. As an example I like hostingers website builder(not wordpress) because it’s simple.
What page builders do you recommend that are both simple but also provide options for further customization?

Elementor is probably the most beginner friendly WP page builder. I would watch a tutorial on it to learn the basics and go from there. Once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty intuitive.
You could also try breakdance but if you didn’t like elementor, not sure you will like it.
I wouldn’t recommend either of these but there is also Divi and BeaverBuilder
Also, is there anything wrong with using plain Gutenberg?
WPBakery is easy enough.
Elementor is so widely used it’s the easiest to work with. If the primary feature you need is a page builder, then squarespace or wix might be the right platform for your project.
Breakdance is a good alternative to elementor but not as popular so you don’t have access to as many tutorials.
I have been working in WordPress since 2005 and today i almost only use breakdance.
Its super super simple ( you could teach grandma to build a website in 2 hours in this )

Its hard not to recommend Elementor. But I manly use Brizy, not the best one but works well and easy enough. That’s subjective though. The best builder for me would be Oxygen or Bricks builder as a developer, its like Photoshop of builders while others are Canva. But its not suited for my business needs.
Have you tried watching any beginner youtube videos on elementor to get you up to speed? Elementor is honestly one of the easiest builders on the block, it only ramps up in complexity from there.
You can try Gutenberg/the built in block editor with the 2024 theme and see if that’s easier for you to use (I found it cumbersome but to each their own).
