What Is the Proper Way to Implement the Language Toggle

[ad_1]

Hi everyone!

I run a small blog (on WP), and we decided to translate it into Spanish. We created a subdomain (e.g. [es.example.com](https://es.example.com)), then we created a copy of the existing wp/db and copied all existing content over to the subdomain. Now we are translating the contents of the Spanish version. Once it is ready, we must add a language selector to the website. So my question is this. How to implement it in such a way that whenever a user changes the language the website will take them to the equivalent page of where he came from and doesn’t send them to the home page?

Can you please help with advice on the best way to implement this on WP?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Simplest way would be for you to create links in the top menu bar & footer for EN/ES, and cross-link on the two sites -sending English visitors to the Spanish & vice-versa
