what happens when a developer removes a plugin from the projectdmc.org site?

The only thing that happens is the plugin is removed from WordPress.org’s plugin directory, so it can no longer be downloaded or installed.

Is it wise to continue using it if it has worked correctly so far?

I don’t recommend it.

At worst, the plugin was removed for malware, so you’re leaving an open vulnerability by keeping it on your site.

At best, the plugin was removed because the developer no longer wanted to maintain it. The plugin may be safe, and it may work just fine for now. Still, over time it will develop compatibility issues, and any bugs or security vulnerabilities discovered in the future will go unfixed.

And how do you find information on the reasons for removing a plugin from the site?

For a variety of reasons, ranging from security to privacy, we don’t release that information. You are welcome to ask the developer if their contact information is available.
