What’s the difference between product ID and SKU

I exported to CVS file to work on instead of uploading products individually.

I’m unsure what the difference between Product ID and SKU, are they the same thing? please let me know

  1. The SKU can be anything you want it to be – in general, it’s a unique identifier for your inventory. I believe the ID column is the Post ID, which has to be an integer and is usually auto-generated when you create a new product (or any content in WP). This ID will need to be unique to anything else on your site (including pages, posts, media, other custom post types, etc.).
