It depends on your theme. The paragraph block in the block editor, will fill your content width, which is specified by your themes CSS. Hope that helps!

There is no “standard” per say, however ***there is an optimal line length of characters that is preferred*** for readability purposes. The “width” though would vary based on your font size. As larger fonts of course would take up more space than smaller.

[Smashing Magazine wrote an article about it years ago]) however if you just Google somethign along the lines of “website optimal character length for readability” you’ll find 641,000,000 more results you can look through 🙂
