TLDR: U.S based. You’re talking to someone they want a site. You want to save time and resources. What’s your fee/payment structure look like along with your work process for new clients?
Are you charging consultation fees if they want to meet in person and discuss initial options? Do you target certain clients only, do you generalize or specialize?
Do you give them examples of your work and say this costs that and I can do something similar for you, here are my terms? Then you just build and design everything according to what you think is best? Maybe allow for some minor edits at the end?
Do you give them template options and spend time doing this? Do you deny such request because you don’t want to waste time and resources? Do you build and design on the fly?
Do you do logos or outsource them? Do you have designer friends? Or prefer the client acquire their own logo?
Do you charge monthly maintenance? What’s your rate?
How do you accept payments? Do you tell the client to set up a pay schedule from their bank to yours? Did you set up your own payments website to accept recurring payments? What POS software, or other tools did you use? Cash check? PayPal venmo?
Do you charge your rate plus CC fees? Or do you eat the CC fees?
I’m looking to take on more clients, but I really like the non tech savvy, hands off, “you handle it and do what’s best” clients. I know my target, and want to churn out some site this year. If you could help by sharing your processes to make business go smooth for you.
