What’s your set up on CloudFlare for an average small business WordPress website?

[ad_1]

I’ve tried setting up a few sites using cloudflare and have always had issues with uptime, SSL, and other events I’m not sure how to categorize.

After messing with it over and over, I just quit using it all together.

How do you guys use it/set it up?

  1. Ensure that your SSL setting is set to Strict, if you have ssl running on your web server.

That’s really all you need. I leave everything else as default.

What specific issues were you facing? “Uptime” isn’t a cloudflare issue – that’s your hosting.

  2. Change your nameservers where you registered your domain to give Cloudflare control of your DNS. Set the DNS A record of your domain to point to the IP address of your server. Make sure proxying is enabled and Cloudflare takes care of the rest.
