I’ve now seen 2-3 examples of moderators coming in and chasing off people who \*innocently\* attempted to get plugin support? Not developers, but users! I mean good god, ok, sure – you’ve upgraded to a paid version of your plugin. But why pounce on a user just because they weren’t aware that paid plugin support is forbidden? I mean, hell, I’ve been using WordPress for over a decade, and even \*I\* wasn’t aware of this policy!
So what’s up with that? Why are they taking such a nasty, bullying approach?

Source? Paid plugin discussion has always been banned. If you have a paid plugin, go to the developer’s website for support.
You’ve paid for a plugin which includes support from the developer directly.
WP Forums have always had that policy, but, just pointing this out to someone and then directing them to the plugin support, politely is the key which has always seemed lacking on the forums.
any pro plugin should be supported via the developer and not [wordpress.org]) forums. It’s always being like that.
Before to pull out the pitchforks, can we see examples of what you are talking about?
Then again, *YOU* not knowing about a such a well known policy is hardly something to rile up others about.
