When verifying a website for Search Console/Webmaster tools using a HTML code in the website’s header, does that slow the website load speed?

I get to choose, which is better: verifying site with a header HTML code or using a TXT record in the DNS? Both gets the website verified for webmaster tools but is there one that is preferred?

I ask because I though putting more html in the <head> of the website means that it loads before other stuff, which means it’ll slow the website load speed. Is this true even for verification codes from webmaster tools? I’ll be putting it in via Google Tag Manager. I can use DNS as well to verify, but which is better?

I’m new to these kind of stuff
