I am a developer and already knew numerous languages and wed related principles.
I want to create a data driven website. I know WordPress comes with a MySQL DB, but no matter how hard I search I can’t seem to find any information on how to utilise the DB and how the DB interacts with the pages so that I can create arbitrary pages simply based on all the data in DB.
The website is simple. You input some info on the front end, and then it takes you to a page showing you information based on that. Like for example, on the front page there’s a drop down of food and then when you found the food and press go it shows you the nutritional information (which is stored in the DB).
Also any theme recommendations should be appreciated as well

What is concerning is what you are describing is the most simple thing to do with WordPress, not only that, but there are so many ways to achieve this. I am just a bit alarmed, because this is really easy to do. Have you ever built a website before ? At the most basic level, have you never used a hyperlink before ?
