Where does the Group element take the padding/margin from?

I always struggle with this part of the Gutenberg themes.

I usually add a group and then populate the contents in it with images, text, and so on.

What I haven’t figured out yet is this. If I leave the Group with its default settings, the left-right page margins are usually wide, especially on my UHD screen.

If I turn off the “Inner blocks use content width” the content’s area gets wider, but the left and right margins are still there.

Lastly, it seems there’s no difference between turning off “Inner blocks use content width” or leaving it on and instead using 100% in the content/wide fields.

Anyway, my question is: how do I control the left-right page empty space? Do I need to tweak the CSS?
It seems strange to me that there’s no way to change those values straight out of the box.
