Where to find reliable freelance developers?

Hey all, curious which sites are the most reliable when it comes to finding freelance WordPress developers? I’ve gone through a couple of job board / gig sites but many seem to be “design a website”, but my need is closer to redesign/upgrade existing site while continuing to be available for maintenance, issues, routine updates, etc – so not a one and done type deal. Does anyone have experience contracting longer-term WordPress developers? If so, where would you recommend my search?
