Which type of backlink should I use here?

Sorry if my question doesn’t fit this subreddit.

I am updating my About Us page, where I have highlighted our large social media following as a prominent news and leaks account across platforms. Our tweets have been cited in multiple authoritative websites as the primary information source. I want to mention the names of these websites and link back to these posts with our tweets in the About Us section. So which backlink should I use? Using “nofollow” won’t help Google recognize authority, but using “dofollow” would pass link juice to my direct competitors.
