Why buy a theme?

[ad_1]

Hey all,

I’m starting my business and for that I need a website. Now I wanna do it myself, so my dad suggested I’d look into a nice theme on themeforest, like Avada.

However, I just don’t understand the benefits. What does it add that WordPress doesn’t have? I mean they’re both sufficient to build sites on, why should I spend money on functions that are basically in WordPress already? What does it add?

I’m very new to all this, so it’s likely that I simply don’t understand it, but that’s why I’m asking. Could someone be so kind to explain the difference and benefits of a premade theme to me?

Thanks!

  1. When you install WordPress, you already get a default theme. A theme is what gives the site a style. How it looks. Some themes are bundled with addons that give you more widgets and may be functionality like booking.
You check the demo of a default WordPress theme and compare it with the demo of a professional theme.
If a default theme suits your requirements, then that’s fine.

  2. If it’s Avada (or Divi, or Elementor) what it adds is bloat.

Otherwise. WP is an empty house. A theme decorates the house. A good pro theme also adds a cooker, bath, shower etc.

In WP Terms – it adds useful stuff like sliders, galleries and price-boxes… specialised themes add calendars, quizzes or events depending on their focus.

The best themes for the amount of goodies but still a fast theme – are Astra and Kadence.
