Why do I keep getting shown adverts for SiteGround on this subreddit, when I’ve downvoted their post, I haven’t used them in years and I certainly haven’t gone googling for them?

How can one get rid of these stupid adverts so if anything I might be shown adverts I will actually click on rather than the same thing over and over.
And no one reply with memes saying “one does not simply get rid of adverts” 😂
You’re being targeted because they tracked you at one point.
It’s a specific ad sales feature, called something like “re-engage bounced prospects”. So when you went to their website at one point, you got tracked and cookied, now they keep targeting you with the hope they can get you to buy through repeated exposure to their marketing.
Even if you clear cookies, your Google and Reddit accounts have been linked to the ad user profile now, so each time you log into one of these accounts, the history will follow you.
You need to go to Reddit options, and in ad settings, disable sharing personal information with advertisers.
Same with your Google and YouTube accounts, disable ad personalisation.
Also, you should install Ghostery plugin in your browser to prevent tracking. Or altogether an ad blocker plugin.
If you’re on Android, you can use Brave, Bing, or Samsung Internet browsers, which have built-in ad blockers.
