Why does my site load slow first time and fast subsequent time?

[ad_1]

I noticed whenever there’s a long period I don’t access my site, when I initially fire it from my browser, it takes very long to load.

But once it loaded, subsequent visits from the same device became fast again.

I think it’s something to do with caching but I need specific advice and why this is happening and on how to drastically improve the initial load time.

Thanks!

  1. Lighthouse in Chrome’s Inspector will help with that. It will spit out a report in 5 minutes and give you some good things to focus on for each page.

That’s definitely caching, likely large media files.
