Will installing a new copy of the plug-in that broke my website work?

Jetpack plugin broke my website. I have deactivated and deleted the plugin but I want it on my site but I don’t know how to fix it. Will installing a new copy of it work or should I contact the plug-in developer?
Do you see any error message on the screen after activation?
Sometimes I check comments on plugin description before I update it… it takes 24 hours for it to appear if it work incorrect. If after 24 hour there is no info about problems… it is more safe to update. But it is only my strategy 🙂
