Hello @gtsitsis,
When you push a staging site live using WP Staging Pro, all URLs, including those for images, should automatically update to reflect the live site’s domain. WP Staging Pro handles these URL replacements as part of its database update process, ensuring that all internal links (such as image paths, internal links in HTML blocks, and other media) point to the correct live site paths instead of the staging site URLs.
So, when you push the staging site to the live environment:
- URL Replacement: WP Staging Pro replaces the staging site’s domain or subfolder with the live site’s domain in the database. This process is designed to update paths in posts, pages, HTML blocks, and any other content stored in the database.
- Avoiding 404 Errors: Because WP Staging Pro replaces these paths automatically, images and other media should load correctly on the live site without causing 404 errors. The migration process is thorough, but if you notice any image links that still point to the staging domain, clearing your cache or re-saving permalinks on the live site may help.
In rare cases, if an image still doesn’t display correctly, it could be due to caching or a misconfiguration. But as a general rule, WP Staging should manage these URL changes for you seamlessly. Let me know if you need any help checking specific areas, or feel free to reach out to WP Staging support for further assistance if issues persist.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
All the best,
René
