Wix vs WordPress – What’s cheaper and more guaranteed to stay online in the long-run?

[ad_1]

Once my website is built, it won’t need too many changes. All the video files are just Youtube links so not much storage. I don’t sell anything on there. Just external links. I really LOVE wix because it’s easy for me to make changes and drag and drop. But i’ts too expensive and I want it to stay online, even if I go to the free feature in the future (or lets say I passa way).

It seems like hosting sites like Blue Gator are much cheaper, but I need to install the WordPress site. Once I install the WordPress site, I no longer have to pay for any type of website builder? So only a few dollars a month to host? What happens if I don’t pay that hosting fee in the future, the website goes offline? At least with Wix, the website will always be there (except ads will show if i don’t pay the monthly fee).

What route do you recommend, if I care more about affordability and longevity?
