Word Press homepage showing up when I press “view” but no content is loading when I try to edit the page. Please help!

I’m working on a website for a client now, let me just say I honestly despise WordPress, I’m the least familiar with it and it’s making my life actual hell right now. Anyway, I’m trying to edit a home page and it pulls up as I created it when I click “view page” but when I try to edit, it shows a blank page that literally just says Home. I don’t know how to fix this and I’m on a deadline. Was all of my work deleted? I tried looking at the “revisions” tab but that didn’t work either.
