Hi @stevenbollinger007, sorry to see you’re having trouble updating.
For the first 7 days after installation, Wordfence should run in “Learning Mode” avoid false-positive blocking of normal plugin/WordPress actions as it’ll be considering what you and visitors do around your site. You can read more here, but reenable it for a time if it’s already set to “Enabled and Protecting” to see if that helps: https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/
When clicking any line (or “eye” icon) in Live Traffic to expand an entry, it will state the reason that Wordfence blocked an action in red text. Sometimes you’ll see an “ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST” button here which you can also try clicking to allow these types of request in future.
Failing that, if you’ve been seeing plain server error pages there is a chance you or your host will need to check the PHP/server logs for fatal errors that are occurring. However, if the blocks are reflected in Live Traffic and are showing a Wordfence-branded page, then they are likely to be linked to false-positives from Wordfence that can be solved with the above methods.
Many thanks,
Peter.
Peter,
I was able to go and change WordFence to Learning mode, then made a change to my site and updated it. When I was done i reenabled WordFence and could still update the site. BTW my site has had WordFence for over 6 months.
