I have 2 jobs: one public and one as a freelancer. I completed 2 years as a freelancer specializing in WordPress. My main services are focused on monthly maintenance, development and occasional support (virus removal, performance, demands for specific developments, etc.). I don’t like taking websites and making them from scratch. Think they’re a lot of work and generally people don’t want to pay that much for it.
I currently earn around 8 thousand monthly, at least, with WordPress. Sometimes I can reach 10k. I believe that because I started just 2 years ago, I have achieved very good results. My experience with WordPress goes beyond these 2 years, but it has been some time since I started offering this type of service.
However, despite everything, I am a person who is almost never satisfied and I always have a certain insecurity about “keeping all my eggs in one basket”. For a few days now, I’ve been looking for alternatives in case we ever lack WordPress.
I know WP’s market share is huge. But you never know, right? Even more so with advances in AI, lol. Do you work with other technologies/tools besides WordPress? If so, what do they do besides that? I had considered the idea of learning Drupal or Joomla, but when I saw their market share (https://w3techs.com/technologies/history\_overview/content\_management) I became very discouraged.
I have a degree in administration and systems analysis and development. I really like using WP because of the ease and speed of implementation. Today, I don’t see myself coding everything from scratch, as I’m too lazy to make a website from scratch, even on WordPress, haha (sorry for being sincere).

Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Joomla make up the bulk of the CMS market – but are all single digit (many are under 1%) market share, compared to WP’s 60-something% share of the CMS market.
There’s also custom dev eg React, Angular.
TBH I’m not really sure what you’re asking. You either have the skills to work with other platforms, or you need to learn them. There’s not really any trick to it. If you aren’t a developer, your options are limited to the CMS’s I listed.
how you tried Gutenberg, and building themes and plugins for it? It’s a very new experience with React that is fun, it is also good to sell themes and plugins, they sell like a hot bread. And Gutenberg is new and changing all the time, and it has a lot of areas of improvement, it changed WordPress forever
Also WP themes with AI is a big thing,
people be selling themes for 80 dollars for a purchase..
If you’re bored with WordPress, learn Laravel. However, if you’re not a coder, you won’t get very far.

WordPress isn’t going anywhere. It’s open source and licensed under the GNU Public Virus, which means that even if the entire WordPress Foundation got hit by a bus tomorrow morning on the way to work, somebody could fork it and we’d still be in business.
