WordPress and Google Search Console

[ad_1]

Hi, y’all. I’m curious if any of you have had this same issue with WordPress websites and Google Search Console. I’m linking this question specifically to WordPress because I haven’t noticed this exact same issue with other non-WP sites I manage versus ones that are running WordPress.

I frequently have categories and posts on my sites listed in the “Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag” section of Search Console. But these items are not excluded in any way that I can find; in robots.txt, in the robots meta tag, in settings within Yoast or Rank Math, etc. And I’ve tested the URLs with multiple third party tools that say the URLs are index-able. This doesn’t happen with all categories and posts, though. But it’s often half or more and I can’t find the commonality or cause.

When I test the URLs in Search Console, it reports that the page are available to Google. But when I resubmit the URLs for indexing, they fail again for the same reason.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice would be appreciated.
