WordPress Categories redirect to specific static page

[ad_1]

Hi, I'm new to running a wordpress site and I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to redirect a typical [website].com/categories/[category name] link (which you get by clicking on the category in the post) to a static page instead.

The auto-generated categories page is alright, but I prefer to have a custom formatted version (which is the static page I'm trying to redirect to). Anyone able to give me some advice?

  1. Yes – just create a regular page and use a Recent Posts-style block that has the ability to filter by category.

  2. Use this plugin [https://wordpress.org/plugins/real-time-find-and-replace/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/real-time-find-and-replace/) to generate link to the page where you want to the visitor go to. It doesn’t modify anything in the database. It just manipulates the links at the time of page generation.

For example when the post is generated with “Category” as ***https ://yoursite. com/category/mycategory*** and you want it to go to ***https ://yoursite. com/category/categorypage.html*** – you need to put them in “**Find**” and “**Replace With**” boxes of the plugin settings.

Install the plugin and explore. It’s very useful plugin.
