Hi! I had recently created a WordPress site for a client and linked Cloudflare for CDN purposes. The account is also linked to Gsuite for the client’s official email. Recently, I discovered that the speed of the site was getting affected by this and got onboard someone to take a look at why this was happening. He suggested to get rid of the cloudflare account as quite a number of pages are being redirected by cloudflare. Can anyone help me with a suggestion? Do I need to get rid of cloudflare?

Cloudflare does not slow down a website.
“*The account is also linked to Gsuite for the client’s official email*” – that’s not a thing. Are you saying you send your website via Gsuite’s SMTP? That won’t have any affect on your website speed either.
“*He suggested to get rid of the cloudflare account as quite a number of pages are being redirected by cloudflare.*” – cloudflare won’t do that unless you tell it to.
What’s your site URL?
No way an MX record can affect site speed this nas nothing to do with it.
Maybe the client created some 301 redirect rules?
Perhaps he means the site is using Google resources, like fonts and analytics and those are slowing things down?
In my experience, and probably almost everyone else’s here, Cloudflare has never slowed down a website I hook up to it. Not to say there aren’t edge cases where it could happen, but the OP seems to be confused.
Cloudflare can have a slower time to first byte, but my understanding is that doesn’t affect the user experience.
