Greetings
I’m transferring a [Wordpress.com](https://Wordpress.com) website to [Wordpress.org](https://Wordpress.org) hosting.
I’ve transferred the site successfully but am having some trouble with the domain.
In the tutorials for transferring it’s indicated that you click on “Transfer to Another Registrar’:

But in my admin panel the “Transfer to Another Registrar” link is not available:

Anyone have any clues why ‘Transfer to Another Registrar’ is not available?

Your best call is to contact WordPress.com support. You might need to do that anyway to ask them to turn this option on for your account.
Get the auth code, go to your other domain registrar and choose “transfer domain”. You don’t initiate a transfer from the current registrar – it’s a “pull” type situation, not push.
I think I’ve answered my question.
I learned that the domain name was registered at Google, so [Wordpress.com](https://Wordpress.com) wouldn’t have registration authority of it.
(Did a WhoIs search which said the domain name was registered at TuCOws. Then dropped the domain into TuCOws ‘WhoIs’ which said it was at Google. Contacted the client and told them to check Google Domains (now owned by SquareSpace apparently) and lo and behold – domain).
