I’ve been researching various options for a membership and course site using WordPress.
I prefer to get just one plug-in, but I am not opposed to getting two if they are optimized to work with each other.
I would appreciate any recommendations.
Of course, everyone claims to have the BEST option, and it’s just giving me a headache trying to figure out which one to use.

So while I have not spent enough time to really evaluate it and give you a “best” answer, [Sensi](https://wordpress.org/plugins/sensei-lms/) is a plugin by Automattic so I hold them to a higher standard for quality. The problem you get into is that most plugins will not handle membership, and courses, and payments.
Most plugins use WooCommerce for their payments so this can get kind of expensive as nothing for WooCommerce seems to be cheap. One of [first you’ll find](https://woo.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/) is by GoDaddy, but I’ve not tried it yet. You can also try the [plugin by Cosmolabs](https://www.cozmoslabs.com/wordpress-paid-member-subscriptions/) which I tend to to like along with Sensi.
Paid Memberships Pro. Open source and free if you don’t need their technical support. Just released a major revision last week.
