wordpress (edit with elementor) issue

i am facing an issue while editing the layout of my home page. At first i used to click on edit with elementor option on the top bar and it shows layout edit option but now its unclickable and now if i go to pages and click on home page, the home page isn’t showing (edit with elementor ) but is showing with other pages. and top bar that shows edit with elementor when i am on site/ (visit site) is unclickable but it shows drop down options which doesnt include edit layout option which is what i am looking for.. pls help
