Reaching out to this subreddits freelance and agency people. The question seems blunt: can you really make money (or charge something) for making a wordpress site paired with elementor?
Hold on, little bit of backstory to the question: I'm considering going freelance with a SEO and content marketing business and I'm trying to build a portfolio, working for free first before really going all in. But one of my potential first "customers" doesn't even have a website. He's been doing his stuff purely by word of mouth and an email address. I still want to help him out and grow his business, but I have to build a website first. This raises the question for me if this should be an additional service I should consider adding to my portfolio. I have been poking around a local wordpress instalation a bit and I'm pretty sure that I can build something with elementor free and with a little bit of effort. I have some experience with editing wordpress pages, but this was like 2015 or something.
The thing is: it all looks too "easy" for me. Literally anybody can build a website with services like Wix or with AI powered tools. So could I really charge customers for building fairly simple wordpress sites as a service without writing a single line of code myself? Tell me what you think or have experienced. Much appreciated!

Does building a website take time? If yes, charge for it
Try making a site and see if it’s too easy first. My impression is that you can make template starter sites easy yes, but if you actually have something specific in mind, you want to create, then it is not easy. And having something specific in mind is all about your knowledge and experience. Using starter sites ignores that. They are one size fits all.
It is not easy making dynamic data either or making the site easily maintainable for you and the end user. And responsive on all breakpoints
