Hi everyone! I have been creating (can’t really say developing can I) WordPress websites using Elementor for 3 years now. I have 20+ websites in my portfolio, and my other experience is server & hosting management, bugfixing, security, troubleshooting, and website maintenance, all in WP. I have a bachelor in IT and minor experience with PHP, Android, and decent knowledge of Javascript. I have experience in Woocommerce webshops with some advanced functionalities ( all using plugins) and ACF.
I feel like I’m not useful at all in my industry? Like i need to know a lot more about programming to make it. The problem is, I don’t really want to learn programming? I find it incredibly tedious.
My eye for design is good, but I have no real experience in it that I can sell. I have a small web business with my husband, and I freelance on Upwork as of recently. Landed one WP job. I have no interest in getting a full time job right now, since I have 2 young children. There are plenty of corporate agency jobs for WordPress here, but I have no interest to be a part of that culture due to past horrible experience.
I know a bit about digital marketing too, but don’t know how to advance in it. I don’t have any programming projects behind me, except a few silly ones in university that I was ✨forced✨ to do.
What is the advantage of working on a custom theme or just picking a theme in general and adding some css to it instead of using elementor and building websites from scratch? Honestly, I haven’t encountered a situation so far where I wanted or needed to use a theme instead of Elementor Pro.
So, any tips? 😂
