Hello all! New to WordPress. I’ve found myself a bit overwhelmed when trying to great an operable site. I do not need e-commerce built in. Are there any legit services you all recommend to build a site? Does WordPress offer them directly? And/or- what’s an average rate? Thank you!!!
Hi mate, most people these days are using WordPress for their website, because it’s cheap and easy to use compared to hiring a full-stack developer.
WordPress offers everything on the table for creating blogs, e-commerce sites, portfolios, business websites, online communities, and more. It is flexible and allows you to customize every aspect through themes and plugins.
Some alternatives that I see pretty often are Wix and Squarespace, but if you take your time with WordPress and understand its capabilities, you will definitely love it
WordPress.com won’t make a site for you. Beginners usually find a theme that they like from reputable theme vendors and imagine adapting their site content/goals into that. The next level up from that is using one of the 3rd builder plugins, with those you can style sections of your site more easily.
If you are struggling to learn, the next step may be to involve a freelancer or small agency to help, you’ll get something that’s more honed to your requirements.
Rates will depend on whether you hire in the US or abroad, you could pay tens of thousands for a site in the US at the high end, or a few hundred dollars at the low end by hiring abroad.

Your hosting should have it forcefully.
WordPress is popular for it’s flexibility to build any kind of websites.

Can you ask the question in a more useful manner? WordPress builds you a website out of the box. It doesn’t need any add-ons or any additions to it. It works directly.
So when you say “build a site”, it doesn’t really give any information as to what you consider a “site” to be.
