WordPress Image Question: Should I update all my photos with titles, alt text, and descriptions to boost SEO

[ad_1]

I’ve been recently learning more about SEO optimization or I am at least trying to. My understanding is that images can be a powerful tool in boosting your site’s SEO by adding title, description, and alt text to them. I use WordPress .com business plan. I don’t self-host my site.

My question is If I go to my WordPress media section and edit all images will all my the newly added title, alt text, and descriptions automatically update the post the images are on? At the start, I’ve never added any of that kind of information to any of the images I use on my site.

I’m wondering if that is a good idea and method. It seems like doing that through the media section where all photos are listed in a row would be easier than going through all 200+ of my posts to update. Would this even be worth it? If I edit every photo to make them more optimized by feeding information to it. Will that even have an effect in boosting older posts’ potential SEO capability?

Please let me know what you think! Should I waste my time updating every image on my site? Also, My last question is if it is in fact worth it, what are some tips you can give me about how titles, alt text, and descriptions should be to get max SEO out of them. I am also all ears if you have any other SEO tips/advice. I can use the help!
